PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Ride On Bus, Metrobus, Metrorail and Express Bus Services are available to employees, residents and visitors of the Montgomery County area. The Ride On bus is operated by the Montgomery County Government and serves the Montgomery County area. The Metrobus and Metrorail are operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) and provides service throughout Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.

FREE NIH (National Institutes of Health) Shuttles.

NIH has free shuttle service for employees and visitors to NIH's main campus in Bethesda. {click for information}

Rock Spring/Grosvenor Shuttle (RIDE ON 6)

This bus travels between the Wheaton Metro station, the Grosvenor Metro station, the Rock Spring business park and Montgomery Mall. This bus has convenient stops between Grosvenor and Montogomery Mall, which include the following streets: Democracy Lane, Fernwood Road, Rockledge and Rock Spring Drive, Old Georgetown Road and Tuckerman Lane. This bus operates every 30 minutes from 6:29am. To 7:57pm. And every 30 minutes from Rock Spring business park to the Grosvenor Metro station from 6:15am. to 8:15pm. Hagerstown and Frederick Commuters

Convenient and direct service from Hagerstown & Frederick to Rock Spring Park is available. Commuter bus service to Rock Spring Business Park, Shady Grove Metro, Urbana Park & Ride, Monocacy MARC Station and Hagerstown MVA is NOW AVAILABLE.

For all you weary commuters who travel I70 and I270 to work, the MTA Bus 991 (PDF File 219 kb) is your answer to an easier commute. There are nine buses in the morning and 10 buses running in the evening. Service begins at 5:00 a.m. in the morning out of either Hagerstown or the Monocacy MARC Station and resumes in the evening at 3:50 p.m. from the Rock Springs Business Park. There is also one mid-day bus available from the Rock Spring Business Park at 1:10 p.m. arriving in Urbana Park & Ride lot at 1:52 p.m., finally arriving in Hagerstown at 2:32 p.m.
